Ways to give
Four ways companies support the mission
Financial sponsorship
Fund a center, a program or a full year of operations. Sponsorships can be tied to a location, a program area or a season.
In-kind donations
Goods, logistics, warehousing, transport, catering, technology or professional services. If it moves the mission, it counts.
Corporate volunteering
Employee engagement days: packing care packages, staffing family events, supporting arrivals and deployment days.
Event & program sponsorship
Care package drives, holiday meals, deployment and homecoming events, and mission delivery to training areas.
Sponsorship is always agreed in a written contract. Typical benefits include logo placement, visibility at events, and mentions in our postings and social channels.
Donation or sponsorship?
Two different routes, two different tax treatments
A donation is given without anything in return. A sponsorship is a contract: your company provides money or goods and receives visibility in return. We will tell you which route fits before anything is signed.
Donation (Spende)
- No service in return — purely supporting the mission
- We issue a Spendenbescheinigung so the gift can be claimed under § 10b EStG / § 9 KStG
- We need the donor’s full name and postal address for the receipt to be accepted by the Finanzamt
- In-kind donations are valued and documented per German requirements
Sponsorship
- Agreed in a written sponsorship contract
- Benefits in return: logo placement, visibility at events, postings and mentions
- Invoiced — no donation receipt is issued for sponsorships
- Generally treated as a business expense (Betriebsausgabe), not as a donation
